Terms of Service
Last updated 7 November 2026
These terms apply when you download or use MiniThen. By using the app you agree to them, together with the App Store’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement or the Google Play Terms of Service, depending on where you got it.
What MiniThen is
MiniThen makes a painted AI portrait of you as a kid from one selfie. Every morning that kid leaves you one line. You can sit with the portrait, write a short note in Say anything and get a short reply, and share a line as a plain card.
Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older.
- Use only a live photo of your own face. Not a partner, a parent, a friend, a celebrity or a child.
- Don’t try to make sexual, violent, hateful or otherwise harmful images, or use the app to impersonate anyone.
AI portraits
- The portraits are made by AI from your selfie and the look answers you choose. They are a likeness, not a photograph, and are always marked as AI in the app. They are not real children.
- Your selfie is sent to AI services only to make your portraits. We never store it on our server, never publish, share or sell it or your portraits, never show them to anyone and never use them to train AI. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
- You keep any rights you have in your selfie. You may use your own portrait for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- AI can get things wrong. A set of faces may not look like you, and a request can be refused by the AI’s safety filters.
AI lines and replies
Your daily lines and the replies in Say anything are written by AI, in the voice of the kid you were, from what you tell the app. They are not written by a person, and nobody at MiniThen reads your notes. The AI can be wrong, odd or miss the point. Take what helps and leave the rest.
Not medical care
MiniThen is a small daily thing. It is not therapy, counselling, medical advice or a crisis service, and it is no replacement for one. If you are in danger or thinking about ending your life, call your local emergency number, or 988 in the US, or find help at findahelpline.com.
What is free
Your first set of faces, the daily line, the widget, the notification, Sit, Share and your first Say anything reply are free. New sets of faces and more Say anything replies need a subscription.
Subscriptions
- MiniThen offers auto-renewing subscriptions, a year and a month, with a free trial when offered. Prices are shown in the store in your currency before you buy.
- The trial does not start at download. It starts only when you choose a paid plan. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel it anytime: on iPhone in Settings, your name, then Subscriptions. On Android in Google Play, Profile, Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. For Apple, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
Your selfie, portrait and letters live only on your phone. We cannot restore them if you delete the app, reset or lose your phone. Delete them anytime in Settings. See the Privacy Policy and Delete Account.
Using the app
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use MiniThen on devices you own or control. Don’t copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, or try to get around its limits, safety checks or paywall.
No guarantee
MiniThen is provided as it is. We work to keep it reliable, but we don’t promise it will be free of errors or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for what the AI writes or paints. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.
Ending your use
You can stop using MiniThen anytime by deleting the app. We may stop access for anyone who breaks these terms, for example by uploading someone else’s face.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using MiniThen after a change, the new terms apply.
